Personal Skills:

An Organiser: At University I hold the position of President of the Computer Society with a membership of 90. This gives me the responsibility of organising and chairing committee meetings. I liase with the Computer department to provide information about our activities and negotiate for example: financial assistance, disc space and computer utilisation.

A Team player: I am regularly involved in group projects as part of my course which include programming based projects. I was involved in a young enterprise company at school. I held the position of Financial Director that involved budgeting, financial reporting, attending board meetings and the day-to-day running of the company.

A Communicator: As President of the Computer Society, I am fortunate to meet many new students from any year of study and can offer help with computer problems or through the society 'know a man who can'. I have excelled in coursework involving presentations and in one exercise, I received the highest mark within my tutor group.

An Enthusiast: I have always put considerable energy and enthusiasm into any and all of my activities, believing that this is the only way to achieve worthwhile results. Whether working as a physically demanding harvester or Scuba diving on a wreck or completing some coursework, I make sure I meet deadlines and the targets that have been set for me - or which I have set for myself.

Interests:

Currently I enjoy Scuba Diving. I am qualified to the level of Advanced Open Water diver with PADI (an American organisation). At University I am a member of the Sub-Aqua society and converted to the equivalent British qualification. I regularly swim to keep fit at the International Swimming pool at Leeds. I also enjoy roller blading with friends and socialising at 10-pin bowling or at the cinema. I enjoy Quasar and have found it helps to develop my team skills.

At school I was a regular member of the cross-country and athletics teams, representing the school in the shot put, high jump, 400-m and the 100-m relay.

Additional Skills:

  • Skilled in many aspects of computing including Microsoft software, Operating Systems (MS-DOS 6, Windows 3/95/98/NT 4, Unix and Linux), Programming (Pascal, C++, Prolog) and extensive Internet experience at home and at University.

  • Clean UK driving licence, geographically mobile and willing to learn.
